Prof. Dr. Firdaus Hariri 🇲🇾

Dr. Firdaus Hariri is a professor and senior consultant oral maxillofacial surgeon in Universiti Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) and Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Clinical Sciences, Faculty of Dentistry Universiti Malaya. He obtained both his medical (MBBS) and dental (BDS) degrees from Universiti Malaya, Master of Science (MSc) in molecular medicine from International Medical University (IMU) and completed his oral and maxillofacial surgery training with distinction at Queen Mary Hospital and Prince Philip Dental Hospital, The University of Hong Kong (HKU). His subspecialty and research interests are focused on orthognathic surgery, pediatric craniofacial and reconstructive surgery as well as distraction osteogenesis. He has lectured both nationally and regionally, as well as actively involved in various scientific research projects, publications, grants, multiple intellectual property ownership and global multidisciplinary collaborations focusing on oral maxillofacial surgical training. He is currently the coordinator for the multidisciplinary craniofacial clinic of UMMC, team leader for Craniofacial Research and Surgical (OCReS) group and subspecialty coordinator for the Fellowship in Advanced Craniomaxillofacial Surgery in Universiti Malaya. He is an active member of the International Society for Craniofacial Surgery, Strasbourg Osteosynthesis Group (SORG), European Association of Craniomaxillofacial Surgery and Malaysian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He serves as guest editor for BMC Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Frontiers in Oral Health and Malaysian Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is the current Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Universiti Malaya.
